Program Manager

Company Overview

We are living in the world of e-commerce, where with one click you can order anything to your house. But what happens when you want to get something out of your house or business?
Value is stuck all around us. There is more than half a trillion dollars’ worth of reusable goods stuck in American houses. Extracting value from our used stuff can be time and effort consuming. Especially if we have a lot, we want to get rid ourselves of quickly.

At Gone, we are unlocking value by building the largest, local recommerce supply chain in the US. We remove friction in people’s lives and unlock value by creating a free pickup service that is as simple as sending a text. To be specific, we are not a junk hauling service and take only reusable, desirable stuff which is in good condition and find a home in a sustainable way. From a bag of carrots to a sectional couch, 70% of Americans shop online daily. Besides finding the best deals, they are also looking for convenience having items dropped at their doorstep sometimes within hours from ordering. This trend is fast growing, and global e-commerce will double before the end of the decade.

But when it comes to removing something from our house, the options are still the same as decades ago. Besides the weekly trash pickup or the quarterly donation drive, there are no easy ways to remove items from your home without taking it somewhere. Many of these items are not needed anymore, but still have value. Americans know, because they store these unused items in their garages, 1 in 4 can’t park in their garage anymore.

New marketplaces like OfferUp or Facebook Marketplace have made it easier to find buyers for your items, but many people rather not meet at their home or have the time to spend communicating back and forth with many interested buyers. Big items like furniture or appliances are even more cumbersome, it took a few clicks to get them delivered by truck on your doorstep, but most people don’t have a car big enough to take them away years later.

This leaves many great items stuck in people’s homes, taking up space and locking in value. There is $500+ billion of that currently just in the USA.

Gone is working to solve this, by creating the largest local supply chain focused on re-commerce. It provides a service that is as simple as texting photos of the items in your garage.

After reviewing the photos, Gone will contact you with an offer to pick it up for free and in some cases offer to sell it for you and share the proceeds. This way desirable items in good condition will find a new home in a sustainable way. To learn more, visit – itsgonenow.com
